Heritage Gold Powder
Rejecting cheap gold paint, we insist on using delicate gold leaf hammered from high-purity gold, solely to present the profound metallic luster and vibrant refraction that only real gold possesses. The gold on each thangka embodies the traditional wisdom of gold application. Artists apply and polish gold on a thin adhesive layer, then meticulously outline it with extremely fine brushes. These intricate processes bring the sacred details of halos and decorations to life on the canvas, shining brilliantly.
Natural Silver
In thangka painting, the application of silver is exceptionally meticulous. We select pure silver precious metals, refined through countless processes, and either hand-hammer them into cicada-wing-thin silver foil or finely grind them into pigment-grade silver powder. Whichever form it takes, both incur extremely high material costs and process losses. For pure silver to transform into the sacred color on the canvas, the key lies in an extremely rigorous manual grinding process. The silver powder must undergo repeated manual grinding, sifting, and grading by artisans, removing all rough particles and impurities, until only the finest, most uniform silver micro-particles remain. Any powder that is not fine enough will result in rough, difficult-to-correct lines. The time, skill, and cost invested to present those clean, crisp, and fluid silver details are fully reflected in every brushstroke.
